We are pleased to announce the online release of the Second Newsletter of the E-Gov4Youth project! The newsletter includes updates on the webinar dedicated to youth engagement in the digital world, the E-Gov Research Report, the project’s second transnational meeting, and upcoming initiatives.

On October 30, the webinar The Future of Democracy: Youth Engagement in a Digital World took place. Organized by TalTech University, the event attracted over 170 participants, providing an important discussion platform on the use of digital tools to enhance youth involvement in society.

During the webinar, which featured speakers from academic institutions, the E-Gov Research Report was presented. The report analyzed youth participation through e-government tools in the project’s partner countries.

The study, which explores the challenges, needs, and expectations of young people regarding digital public administration services, highlighted the following findings:

  • 70% of young people are familiar with the term e-government, and 90% have already used public digital services.
    • In Norway, despite the widespread availability of digital services, only 40.7% of young people are aware of the concept of e-government.
    • The main concerns involve data protection and interoperability between systems.
    • Trust in digital institutions remains a challenge, but e-government is perceived as essential for democracy and civic participation.

On October 8-9, the E-Gov4Youth project partners gathered in Thessaloniki, Greece, for the second transnational meeting. During the session, participants shared experiences, analyzed progress, and planned future activities to enhance youth participation through e-government.

The E-Gov4Youth project will continue to promote digital youth engagement through innovative initiatives, including:

  • An online course dedicated to e-government tools, transparency, and digital ethics.
  • A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) accessible to all, focused on e-Governance.
  • The EGOV4YOUTH platform, an interactive space for collaboration between young people and public administrations.
  • A training activity in Estonia to explore best practices in e-government. Follow us to stay updated on the latest news and developments in the project!
